CONSTITUENCY PROJECT: ADHA SPEAKER PRESENTS CARS, AMBULANCES, HOSPITAL CONSUMABLES AND CASH ASSISTANCE TO 600 WOMEN
As part of activities marking his two years in office, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Uba Gaya Constituency Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, on Saturday presented twenty three cars to his constituents, five brand new ambulances and medical consumables to Primary Health Care Centers across the Uba/Gaya Constituency.
As part of activities marking his two years in office, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly and member representing Uba Gaya Constituency Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas, on Saturday presented twenty three cars to his constituents, five brand new ambulances and medical consumables to Primary Health Care Centers across the Uba/Gaya Constituency.
He also empowered six hundred women in the Constituency with cash so as to enable them establish small scale businesses.
Speaking while presenting the cars at Mararraba Mubi, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, told the gathering that he was impressed with what he has seen on the ground and applauded the Speaker for donating the ambulances to Primary Health Care Centers as well as other vehicles to religious, political groups and youths with a view to empowering them.
Governor Fintiri, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner Ministry for Rural Infrastructure and Community Development, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu Prambe, said that the electorate in Uba/Gaya have elected credible leader who has the love of his people at heart, and urged other legislators in the State Assembly to continue with the good job.
In his address, the Speaker Adamawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas said his concern is to ensure that, he provide basic amenities at door step of his people in order to make them feel the impact of given him mandate of represent them.
Iya Abbas while appreciating Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for fulfilling his campaign promises especially to the People of the State also saluted all the members of the seventh Assembly for putting the interest of people of the State at heart which he said is behind the successes recorded within the two years in office of the present administration.
He also thanked his constituents for their support and understanding adding that, as lawmaker he will provide more devidend of democracy to them.
Highlightening the two years score card of Alhaji Aminu Iya Abbas as member representing Uba Gaya Constituency one of the organizing committee members Alhaji Tukur Iya Abbas said the lawmaker has facilitated the construction of block of three classrooms with an office and toilet facilities at Dumde area of Uba, constructed and furnished two classrooms at Mayo Lope, Kurmi and Njairi primary schools and constructed and eqipped a computer center at Garstanu and Chika.
While on the health sector, he also embarked on the rehabiltation and construction primary health care centers at Sabon Gari, Zah, Guw as well as constructed/sank boreholes, facilitated the re-electrification and electrification of communities, distributed fertilizer to farmers and delivery kits to women, empowered fifty youths in collaboration with United Nation Development Program in various skills among others.
On her part the Head of Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency Adamawa State Hajiya Aisha Bawa Bello commended the Speaker for empowering six hundred women with cash and assured them of countinued support from the Fintiri led government in the state.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP in the state, Barrister. Tahir Shehu, commended the Speaker for defended the ruling party and democracy, adding that the electorate have voted for the right members in Uba/Gaya and Hong Constituencies.
He used the opportunity and appealed to the beneficiaries to make use of the vehicles donated so as to make them become self reliant in the society, calling on those that could not get to exercise patience and wait for another time.
In his welcome address, the Chairman Peoples Democratic Party PDP Hong Local Government Area, Usman Wa’aganda, said that the Iya Abbas, who represents Uba/Gaya and his counterpart of Hong, Mr. Bathiya Wesley, have made him and the leadership of the party proud.
Mr. Wa’aganda, said that he was confident right from the time of campaign that Alhaji. Aminu Iya Abbas and Bathiya Wesley would deliver on their promises and urged the electorate to support them and Governor Fintiri’s administration
Meanwhile EMNAMU Foundation, a humanitarian foundation with its founder a young business Mogul Doctor Emmanuel Musa an indigene of Hong local government has presented hospital consumables, empowerment kids and cash donation in support of Speaker Aminu Iya Abbas empowerment drive.
The founder who was represented by State co-ordinator of the foundation Mr. Kukuya Godwin kalaa commended the Speaker for his giant stride in improving the living standard of the people assuring that the foundation will partner with stakeholders in providing basic needs to the people
